Do you have a WordPress website? If so, have you ever shared one of your page links on Facebook and Twitter and been frustrated that the image that the page grabs isn’t the right one or isn’t the right size?

In fact, you can’t control when other people are going to share any one of your website pages or blog post articles. I suggest using the method I show you below to create the extra Facebook and Twitter images while you are creating the feature image for your page or post. It is easy to designate specific images for both Facebook and Twitter sharing as you create your new pages, instead of freaking out later when you see one of your web pages shared and the image is wonky or incorrect.

There’s an easy fix with the free version of the Yoast SEO plugin. On every web page and blog post, you can scroll down to the Yoast section and click on the Social tab. It is here you have access to adding a separate page title, description and image for both Facebook and Twitter. Then you can create 3 images, for example, one for your page or post, and two more in the correct dimensions for Facebook and Twitter.

The correct image dimensions are:

  • Facebook 1200 x 630 pixels
  • Twitter 1024 x 512 pixels
